Tammin Matriarchs of the Wheatbelt

September 5 @ 8:00 am - September 7 @ 5:00 pm

Join us for a very special community festival weekend event in the Shire of Tammin.

We will be celebrating 50 years of continuous trapdoor spider research started by the groundbreaking work of the late Professor Barbara York Main OAM.  Her lifelong dedication unearthed invaluable scientific knowledge and produced award-winning writings on place, shining a light on these incredible beings and her own home in the wheatbelt.

There’s plenty to keep you busy over the weekend, including exclusive documentary screenings, theatre, poetry, citizen science, workshops, special guest speakers, competitions, and interactive family activities.  Don’t miss out – it’s worth leaving your burrow for this!

This event is dog-friendly, so bring along the whole family.  All profits go directly to the Bookend Trust charity to fund future trapdoor spider research.

Camping is available at the Donnan Park sports ground.  No powered sites available but access to camp kitchen, BBQ and hot showers.  Booking available via the QR code or www.leanda.life

This event will be held on unceded Ballardong Noongar Boodja.  We acknowledge Elders of everywhere and pledge to be respectful while walking with Country in this place.

Tickets are $5 for the weekend, or free for children under 12. Purchase tickets here at www.leanda.life
