SUMMARY:Merredin Roman Rudnytsky
DESCRIPTION:Roman Rudnytsky is an American concert pianist of Ukrainian background.  Born in New York City and a graduate of the famous Juilliard School in that city\, he has been playing concerts around the world for years. To date\, he has played in 100 countries and on 80 cruises of Cunard and P&O (UK) ships.  He has been soloist with many orchestras around the world and played in over 50 countries between 1984 and the pandemic through US Embassies as a kind of “cultural ambassador”.  When he was younger he was a prizewinner in ten international and national piano competitions. \nHe has made 23 tours in Australia since his first one in 1979–with performances in every State and in the NT—from the Sydney Opera House to many regional cities\, country towns\, and Outback communities.  He did the Australian premiere performance in 1993 of the then-recently-discovered Liszt Concerto No.3 in E Flat (1989) as soloist with the SBS Yourh Orchestra in the Sydney Town Hall. The SBS made a documentary of thuz\, featuring the performance\, calling it “Discovering Liszt”\, and broadcast it over their TV network. \nRoman Rudnytsky has over the years played many concerts in WA:  at most of the Circuit West theatres and for many local arts councils and also recitals directly organized by several Shires. \nHe has played recitals at the Cummins Theatre several times on past tours. \nHis recital on this occasion is part of his 24th Australian tour—taking place from late September to mid-November. \nTickets $15 – $25 available online or in person at Central Wheatbelt Visitor Centre.
