SUMMARY:2026 Big Yellow Pipeline Challenge
DESCRIPTION:Big Yellow Mining presents the Pipeline Challenge in support of Youth Futures. Proceeds from the event will benefit Youth Futures’ homelessness programs\, including The Nest\, which provides young parents and their babies with a safe place to call home. \nJoin us on 29 April 2026 for an epic five-day\, 600 km mountain bike adventure that will see you and your teammates trace the iconic golden pipeline from Kalgoorlie to the Perth hills. Simply get a team of 2-5 riders together and aim to raise $2\,500 each before setting off from Kalgoorlie. The money you raise will make a huge difference to the lives of disadvantaged young West Australians who are supported by the local charity Youth Futures. \nYour epic ride begins in Kalgoorlie\, located 594 km east of Perth. Made famous in the late 1800’s when prospectors Paddy Hannan\, Tom Flanagan and Dan O’Shea discovered gold\, the rest is history! Who knows you could be riding over a small fortune as you make your way from Kalgoorlie to the Perth hills. We will camp overnight at Coolgardie\, Southern Cross\, Merredin and Grass Valley. \nThe Big Yellow Pipeline Challenge is set for Wednesday 29 April to Sunday 3 May 2026. Taking place in autumn\, riders can expect cool mornings\, comfortable days and grippy trails – a perfect recipe for great gravel biking. \n📍Merredin Regional Community & Leisure Centre \nTo Learn more ➡️ https://www.pipelinechallenge.com.au/

SUMMARY:Beverley CATALPA: Flight to Freedom
DESCRIPTION:THEATRE 180 in collaboration with WA Museum tells the incredible true story of the greatest prison break in Australian history: the escape of six Irish Fenians from the fortress of Fremantle Prison in 1876 on board the American whaleship CATALPA. \nKnown as a living tomb\, Fremantle Prison was a place of hellish imprisonment and far from the green fields of Ireland and the land of birth for these freedom fighters seeking independence from centuries of crippling British rule. \nTwo years in the planning\, involving espionage\, secret letters\, undercover operatives who travelled from Boston to Western Australia to enact the plan\, a love affair\, a rescue ship masquerading as a whaleboat\, a desperate boat chase and the threat of war against the might of America – this story has all the hallmarks of a major Hollywood movie and all the heart of an Irish ballad. \nWith its sprawling storyline\, cast of thousands and epic landscapes from the high seas to 19th century Western Australia\, CATALPA: Flight to Freedom is the latest in THEATRE 180’s successful and immersive CinePlay genre. \nThe daring and audacious CATALPA rescue is a dramatic and gripping tale of hope and adventure not to be missed! \nAGE RANGE: 12yrs – 100+yrs \nDURATION: 105 minutes \nBeverley Town Hall \nTickets – BEVERLEY STATION ARTSWritten by Stuart Halusz and Myles Pollard.  Featuring Myles Pollard\, Tadhg Lawrence and Taran Knight.
