SUMMARY:Merredin The Lost Quays : The Furthest Shore Tour
DESCRIPTION:After ten years of festivals of the southwest of WA\, and interstate\, it’s high time the good ship The Lost Quays left port again to head for The Furthest Shore‘! With our compass set for Esperance\, we’ll be calling in on the outward voyage at Merredin and Kalgoorlie\, and return stops at Ravensthorpe\, Lake Grace\, and a final special informal concert at Wave Rock! There will also be workshops at Kalgoorlie and Esperance. \nExpect a show with plenty of traditional shanties and originals sea songs from the days of the tall ships. And no doubt a chance to sing along in a chorus or two! Performing in a mixture of a cappella (unaccompanied) and with accompaniment from guitar\, mandolin\, bodhrán and concertina\, The Lost Quays are known for their energy\, strong harmonies\, engaging performances and relish a good audience connection. Welcome on board! \nHailing from the port of Fremantle\, The Lost Quays are WA’s premier sea shanty band. Formed in 2015\, the group are WA festival favourites\, with a UK and Europe tour in 2018\, performances at the Australian Wooden Boat Festival in Hobart in 2019 & 2023\, and at Canberra’s National Folk Festival in 2024. The Lost Quays had sold out shows ‘Under the Whale’ in the WA Museum Boola Bardip as part of Perth’s Fringe Festival in 2025. They host a long-established and popular monthly “Shanty Club” at Clancy’s in Fremantle. With four CDs to their credit\, the group bring to life their maritime songs. Their repertoire includes many shanty standards and more reflective ‘below decks’ songs\, plus originals\, focussing on the days of sail around the coast of Western Australia and beyond. And live performances always provide interesting tales of maritime history \nTickets – $25 adult /$20 concession \nBook Online Now \n
