Nungarin

280 kilometres north east of Perth

Located a three and a half hour drive east of Perth and just a half hour drive north of Merredin is the delightful town of Nungarin.

Nungarin was a depot for Australian army personnel from 1944 to 1960. Visit the Machinery and Army Museum for an insight into the past. The Mangowine Homestead, 14 kilometres north of the town, was a wayside stop on the way to the Goldfields for many travellers. It has been restored to its original condition and described the life of the pioneers in the 1870's in the district. McCorry's Hotel and adjoining blacksmith's building was built in 1911 and also offers quality accommodation.

Call at the Post Office for heritage trail information.

Eaglestone Hill is a granite outcrop in the Nungarin Shire that is worth visiting.
