North Eastern Wheatbelt Travel Association NEWTravel
Explore the history and beauty of WA's north eastern Wheatbelt. Get your copy of the new 2007 NE Wheatbelt Map and Visitor Guide call 1300 736 283 or check out the maps section of this web site.
With a slogan of "see the real country" NEWTravel is an association of the Shires of
Dowerin
,
Koorda
,
Mt Marshall
,
Mukinbudin
,
Nungarin
,
Trayning
,
Westonia
and
Wyalkatchem
. Their aim is to encourage visitation into this fascinating area of the Wheatbelt with its acres of
wildflowers
,
granite outcrops
, farm stays, pioneer wells, thriving agriculture and wide open spaces.
You will be entranced by the beauty of
Elachbutting
and other wonderful granite outcrops in the area. Meet the locals having fun at
events
such as the Mangowine Concert,
Dowerin Field Day
, local shows, the Mukinbudin Spring Festival or the
Nungarin markets.
The
Granite Loop Wildflower Trail
is a great route to take to explore this area. It encompasses the heart of the Wheatbelt and north and east to the edges of the pastoral country. And all only a few hours drive away from Perth or Kalgoorlie.
V.C News:
The Beacon Telecentre has joined the Koorda Telecentre in opening of their Visitor Information area at the Centre. Visitors can now browse the new brochure displays and talk with the friendly staff. Both Nungarin and Mukinbudin have also received grants to up grade their visitor facilities. Well done!
